July 17, 2009, Newsletter Issue #222: Mezzaluna or Lunetta

Tip of the Week

In many Italian homes you will find the lunetta or the mezzaluna, a crescent-shaped, 2-handled chopper. It effortlessly chops herbs and vegetables by simply moving the blade from side to side as it remains in contact with the chopping surface. It is great for chopping garlic and parsley together and found in most Italian kitchens!
You can also find 1-blade choppers and they work well, too.
